Now, for the essay questions:

1. The events of Night change the relationship between the narrator, Eliezer, and his father. How does the relationship change in the novel (cite specific examples)?

2. Eliezer goes through a serious of traumatic events. What effect does this have on him, both mentally and physically?

3. Discuss the various images and thoughts associated with the concept of "Night" in the novel. Why did Wiesel chose this for the title of his book?

4. How are the stories of Eliezer and Akiba Drumer similar? How are they different?

5. The Kaddish, the traditional prayer of mourning, does not mention the dead and instead praises God. In Night, what did it mean that living people recited it for themselves and why did this anger Eliezer?
